A surviver of child abuse. Virginia Hutchinson began writing poetry as an adolescent and worked as a professional writer in Washington, D.C. for 28 years. Her short stories have appeared in several publications and her poetry has been published in newspapers, numerous university anthologies and litterary journals. You may find her poetry in Florida State's Watermarks and the University of California's Into the Teeth of the Wind. She has won a number of poetry awards, including the Loella Cady Lampshire Prize for Poetry, the National Federation of State Poetry Societies' annual poetry award and others. She has one Daughter and lives in West Hills, Ca.
